The earth, what a beautiful planet
Look around you’ll see what I mean
A setting-sun, glowing moon
All nature in between.
Like a square peg in a round hole
Is the human race
We waste, exploit and poison –
This beautiful place.
The earths resources are finite
Do we really need to be told
Because we believe it will never happen
We continue arrogant and bold.
So when it’s too late for our children’s children
And a new order of disorder takes hold
Will the meek then inherit the earth
Or will the human race just grow cold.
Will the blue planet in space still be shining?
A wondrous sight to be sure
As the universe breathes a sigh of relief
When humanity exists no more.
