Mine Alone

Mine Alone. . .

If my own psyche won’t recognise me
Who will ?
Now my demons
Have found their way back home.
I will always be alone
Never to give love or receive
Life has taken my soul and torn it to pieces
No hope for release, very little pleases

Watch as emotions flicker across faces.
Truth is locked behind their eyes
I look at lies told in faces
Stunted intelligence no respecter of races.
The masses enthralled by success
In useless careers
Empty gestures gratefully received
Those small minds easily pleased.
Watch your friends as they fail
To gain their ambitions holy grail,
Hope to trip the thief and watch him fall
Surround my heart with concrete walls.
On the outside looking in
At those with empty hearts that win.
