Brown Envelope Anxiety

Brown Envelope Anxiety

I hear the postman on the landing
Surging adrenaline has me standing
Behind the door-breathing paused
Hoping
No brown envelope
Comes through my door
I know it sounds crazy
I know it sounds sad
But the treatment of
Mental health sufferers
Has been really bad
By an uncaring Govt
And all of those
Fools that believe what they read
And are told
By a corruptible press and media tv
Gone are the days when the press speaks out free

So this ritual continues
The same everyday
The anxiety grips me
Sends my fearlessness away
I shall fight when I can
And hide when I can’t
There’s no inbetween
When it’s yourself that you doubt
