  2. It would be useful if there was more information about food given away on the streets, like soup and sandwiches runs, for the poor who aren’t homeless as well as the homeless. A lot of people won’t go to food banks because you need a referral and they don’t want Social Services getting involved in their lives or their GP being privy to their financial situations, for example – this includes me a while ago. And people are only allowed to go to a food bank a few times a year or something so what about the tests of the time when someone or a family is hungry? Finding food in skips is very hard these days – at one time not too long ago it was fairly easy to eat freegan from skips but now so many bins have dye poured in them and are very securely locked. I would love to see more info on street kitchens and to help with one. I give to food banks but feel I’m not reaching the many who can’t use them.
